Shakira visiting Haiti after Earthquake

The singer and dancer Shakira is the most recent artist to lent in Haiti to observe and help after the recent Haiti earthquake disaster

Shakira arrived to Haiti and met up with actor Sean Penn as they visited the Petionville Golf Club, which has become a makeshift camp in Port-au-Prince for the stranded Haitians.

Her mission to visit Haiti is to search for usable land in order to build a new school for the children, many who are homeless and now school less.

Shakira has a foundation called "Barefoot Foundation". Shakira's foundation was created to ensure that every child can continue to exercise their right to have a quality education. Their aim is to improve the education and and quality of life for millions of children denied in order to fulfill their potential.

Joe Biden meets Haitian-Americans in Miami

Vice President Jo Biden and officials from the U.S. Agency for International Development will meet with the Haitian community leaders at a new cultural center in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood.

The vice president hosted a similar meeting here in January shortly after a magnitude-7 earthquake struck Haiti.

Vice President Joe Biden will be meeting with Haitian-American community leaders in Miami to discuss reconstruction efforts in Haiti. This is a sign that the Obama administration will not forget us as promised

Haitian Ricardo Sopin will be on Dancing with the Stars

The Haitian Joudalist just learned that Haiti native Ricardo Sopin will be at Dancing with the Stars. According to the the information learned by the Joudalist, Ricardo Sopin wants to keep Haiti's plight at the forefront of everyone's minds.

Ricardo Sopin and his dance partner, Iraida Volodina, will appear on "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday along with two other dance pairs with close ties to Haiti, according to Leslie Valencia, the owner of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Saratoga Springs where Sopin is an instructor.

Canada governor general Michaelle Jean to visit Haiti Earthquake area soon

The Haitian born Canada governor general, Michaelle Jean, will travel to Haiti on March 8-10. She will be accompanied by her husband, Jean-Daniel.

Michaelle Jean is originally from Haiti. She is one of the most famous Haitian Women Celebrities.

Michaelle Jean, born 6 September 1957, is the Governor General of Canada. She was appointed as such by Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, to replace Adrienne Clarkson as vicereine, with the official announcement of the selection made on 4 August 2005, and Jean's investiture taking place on 27 September of the same year...

Haitian Superstar Wyclef Jean is honored by NAACP

Wyclef Jean, the Haitian and International superstar is being honored by The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The former The Fugees' star has been one of the key figures leading the relief efforts in Haiti which was left devastated by a 7.0-magnitude Haiti Earthquake in January. The charity work if Wyclef Jean has already earned him the Artist of the Year prize from America's prestigious Harvard University in Massachusetts, and now he has been named the recipient of the Vanguard Award for Work in Racial and Social Issues at the upcoming NAACP Image Awards, held in conjunction with Ford Motor Company.

To Pat Robertson, What causes the Earthquake in Chile?

A massive 8.8 earthquake struck Chile in the early morning hours on Saturday. Close to 100 times more powerful than the Haitian earthquake.

On January 12, 2010 at 16:53 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred in Haiti. Televangelist Pat Robertson said immediately after the Haiti earthquake that earthquake-ravaged Haiti has been "cursed" by a "pact to the devil."

"Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it," he said on Christian Broadcasting Network's "The 700 Club." "They were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III, or whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, we will serve you if you'll get us free from the French. True story. And so, the devil said, okay it's a deal."

Haitian-American Noramie Festa Jasmin made History as Mayor of Spring Valley

This is a sign that the Haitian community is moving and if I may say "Up" in the US. The latest is having one of our own elected as mayor in a major town. On behalf of the Haitian diaspora in the United States and all over the world, I would like to congratulate Noramie Festa Jasmin as the new Mayor of Spring Valley.

She has become the first Haitian American and the first woman to be elected as Mayor of Spring valley in 2009.

Before becoming Mayor of Spring Valley in New York, Noramie Jasmin occupied the position of trustee as well as deputy Mayor.
