Sean Penn's third annual Help Haiti benefit raised nearly $6 million

Among the internationally known individuals, you find Bette Midler, Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Theron, Piers Morgan, Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman and Idris Elba just to name a few.
The biggest surprise was the apparition of U2, the Irish rock band from Dublin. The popular musical band was formed in 1976.
The host of the event, Anderson Cooper, gave the biggest donation after winning a auction bid of $1.4 million, a sculpture to be made from Penn's 65 discarded firearms. Sean Penn also gave his vintage El Camino for auction to benefit J/P Haitian Relief Organization. This was sold for $100,000 at the auction Saturday
