TV / Radio Give Too Much Time to Political Candidates

Public television and radio and Radio gave alarming percentage of airtime to the ruling party's candidate

Public and private on-air media outlets distributed inordinate air-time to some presidential candidates, skewing a process supposed to follow democratic principles.

RTNH gave PHTK candidate, Jovenel Moise, 56% air-time, and Radio-Tele Ginen 77%. Candidate Jude Celestin received 53% air-time on Radio Kiskeya.

The figures were offered in a report compiled by Election Observation Mission of the European Union.

Charles Henri Baker abandoned dream to become president of Haiti

The agro-industrial, former member of the Group of 184 (G 184), three times presidential candidate Charles Henri Baker feels that the Haitian electorate doesn't trust him and that his chance to become president will may never happen. Consequently, he has announced that he will no longer run for the presidency of Haiti.

in 2005, Charles Henri Baker and his Respè coalition received 8.24 percent of the vote. President Rene Preval was elected that year for 5 years. In 2010 he ran again but was not in favorable position to win. His latest attempt was the last election when he once again came up short.

The key to be a good business person is the ability to predict what the demand will likely be depending on the situation or occasion. I am 100 percent certain that there is going to be a great demand for candidates who would rather be known as Victimized Candidates once the election results are published by the CEP.

As they may already start, many of those who did not win will play the card of victims so that they can capitalize on the sympathy of the population as well as keeping a face to justify their lost. Haiti Presidential Candidate Jean Chevalier Sanon, is Canadian

After Jacky Lumarque and François Levelt another presidential candidate for the upcoming election in Haiti has been excluded from the race. This time, it is Mr, Jean Chevalier Sanon who has been excluded from the race for misrepresenting his nationality. According to the CEP, he is a Canadian citizen and has been holing a Canadian passport.

Investigation conducted by the CEP revealed that the candidate Jean Chevalier Sanon is in possession of a Canadian passport, number JK702380.

Mr. Jean Chevalier Sanon is in violation of section 135 of the Haiti Constitution, paragraph (1), 36 of the Electoral Decree, paragraph (a) which stipulates that to be elected president in Haiti, you must be a Haitian of origin and never renounce your nationality at the time of registration. As a consequence, his case will be transferred to the criminal criminal courts.

Francois Levelt out of Presidential Race due to drug Trafficking

We just learned that the candidate for the political party MUDHAH, François Levelt, has been removed from the race for president in Haiti. The CEP made that decision on Friday, June 19, 2015 due to possession and trafficking of crack and cocaine in the United States.

Jean-Max Bellerive declares his candidacy for President

Breaking news. Former Haiti Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive just announced that he's candidate for the next Presidential election in Haiti.

Jean-Max Bellerive was Prime Minister under President Rene Preval, nominated on October 30, 2009, to replace former Prime Minister Michèle Pierre-Louis.

There were some allegations made on Mr. Bellerive and gold in Haiti

Is it true that Nicolas Duvalier is a Candidate?

Since Nicolas Duvalier has posted several pictures distributing gifts with to small Haitian children for Christmas, the "Teledjol" machine has been running. The main rumor has it that Nicolas Duvalier will be running as a candidate in the next election in Haiti.

So what's the big deal? He is Haitian and as any Haitian has the right to run if he believes he can serve his country.

Allegation of arbitrarily arrest of candidate Roosevelt Augustin by Youri Latortue

Roosevelt Augustin who is the Vice President of The Christian Movement for a New Haiti and is the candidate for Gonaives' Mayor, has been released from jail after one month of his arrest. All the charges against Augustin have been dropped on the basis that his arrest was based on arbitrary grounds. It is being said that his arrest on 26th April, 2013 was initiated after an illegal call by Youri Latortue, which is the advisor to President of Haiti, Michel Martelly.

It was claimed by Latortue that Augustin, who was elected as director of a school operating under the program of Free and Compulsory Education, committed fraud but Augustin, has since the very beginning, claimed that he was innocent. One day after Augustin declared his candidature for the post of Mayor for Gonaives, he was arrested.

Anna Pierre, candidate for mayor of North Miami, threatened with Voodoo dolls

Mayoral candidate from North Miami, Anna Pierre, is one among eight people fighting for the post. Anna Pierre is a popular figure. She is a well-known nurse and a singer. Mete Suk Sou Bonbon - her hit song of the 1990's scaled up her popularity. She asked people from 3 countries to pray for her because there is someone who is using anonymous calls from blocked numbers along with sinister sorcery to prevent her from becoming mayor. Anna Pierre said that she found needle poked small dolls and ample amount of pennies in front of her office and being a person from Haiti, she knows the meaning of those things. She indicated towards voodoo practices being used by someone to throw her out of the race. Anna said that people from U.S., Canada and Haiti are praying for her and that she is not afraid because Jesus is with her.

Solution to question Dodging in political debate

Politicians are experts at what is called the dodge.

If a debate moderator asks a question on a topic, the candidate starts to answer as if they are going to address it.

They begin with a generality, for instance, 'there are so many problems facing America today'. But then they thwart the question by going off-topic. The viewer doesn't notice the shift between the question asked and the answer given. This occurs because viewers' limited attention spans focus on trying to assess if they like the candidate or not.
