Prince Charles and Haiti PM Laurent Lamothe Meet to Discuss Recovery

Laurent Lamothe, Prime Minister of Haiti, flew to London, England recently to sit down with the Royal Family's Prince Charles to talk about the reforestation and construction projects, part of the Government of Haiti's plans to restore and improve the country's natural and historical resources.

Prince Charles, an avid gardener, has created a stunning and unconventional garden at his country estate, Highgrove, an example of state-of-the-art organic gardening. He has taken an active interest in the reforestation effort going on right now in Haiti. His foundation has donated two million organic seedlings to be planted throughout the country by September 2012.

The Prince's foundation is also involved in the reconstruction project for Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital city and repository of Neo-Romantic architecture and Pre-Columbian artifacts. The Prince assured Lamothe he and his foundation will fulfill its promise of assisting Haiti recover for the long haul.

Discussions between the Prince and Lamothe, he termed "fruitful". He extended an invitation to the Prince to come and see the progress that has been made due to his foundation's generosity. The Prince thanked Lamothe for the invitation and said he will add it to his travel schedule, usually booked up to two years in advance. He said he would try to make visiting Haiti a priority.

While in London, Lamothe also met with United Kingdom Trade & Investment group. He discussed investment opportunities that are currently being developed for local businesses, with significant growth potential.
