MOCA Cafe, Best Haitian Cuisine in North Miami

MOCA Cafe was recently renovated where they went for a more stylish and contemporary look with its new sky-high ceilings, glossy tables and black leather benches and of course, upbeat Haitian music in the background. Moca is run by owners' Hamler R. Noel and Jean M. Cerenord who have been business partners for about seventeen years.

To further give Moca a world-class feel when it comes to Haitian cuisine, Haitian-born Chef George Jiles procured the help of local "Top Chef" contestant Ron Duprat to reconstruct the menu with French culinary influences. One of the café's bestsellers is the char-grilled strips of Bahamas conch or mollusks that are served with malagna root fritters, rice, fried plantains, black bean soup and pikliz, a vinegar-based cabbage salad with a mix of spices. They serve Creole and other Caribbean dishes, as wells as All-American food such as steaks burgers and salads.

Café Moca is a hotspot for Miami natives and tourists alike. People who visit the nearby gallery and museum should make sure to stop by for a taste of Haiti's scrumptious and exotic cuisine joined with Haitian music that truly give a feel of the Caribbean and the sea.
