Inexpensive Gift-Giving for the Holidays

Gift items needn't be expensive or conventional. You can forgo the X-box 360 and give nephew collectible sports cards of his favorite team. Give mom or nana a box of tree ornaments. How about a favorite plant for your uncle's green thumb?
Home-made baked goods are something everyone loves at holiday time. And while you're being creative, wrap gifts in unconventional wrapping. Go to the art store and buy a roll of inexpensive butcher paper. Find notions that could work in place of gift ribbons to adorn your packages. The art and $1.00 store are two good places to get many ideas on inexpensive gift-giving.
Simple items can make someone's day a little brighter. A new set of dish cloths, towels, a muffin pan, crochet or knitting supplies all are common items we enjoy having and using.
The idea behind all gift-giving is making someone feel loved and appreciated, and it doesn't take over-charging your credit card to accomplish that. All it takes is thoughtfulness and some creativity.
