Driver Of Joseph Lambert, Floresthal Romain, Shot Dead In Belle-Anse

It seems that the driver was taken to the remote place where he was killed either forcefully or by someone he trusted. He had received two bullets-- one on his shoulder and one on the head. The driver Romain had worked with the Senator Lambert for last 15 years and the Senator has described him as a very close confidant aide, like a friend, brother and colleague. Senator Lambert is a Presidential advisor and a candidate in the forthcoming election. The South East department, where the driver was killed is a place known for goons, an area of terror, more during the elections.

The place brought victory to the two Lamberts brothers-- Joseph and his younger brother Wencesclass. In 2013, a young man named Sherlson Sanon, reported human rights organization about the links of Senator Lambert and his brother with the underworld. As per his disclosure, he had once served as a soldier in the "Kakos Gang" run by the Lamberts and another third Senator from the South East, Edwin Zenny. This gang was involved in many drug trafficking, murder and kidnapping cases. And this continued even when Edwin Zenny became the Mayor of Jacmel. Sanon had also mentioned the name of current Commissioner of the Government of Croix-des-Bouquets, Leny Thélusma, as he was also involved in such similar series of crime. However, the judges never investigated his claims, instead put Sanon behind the bars.

Last year on May 14, 204, a 44- year old businessman and political activist from Haiti's southeastern city of Jacmel, Jean Rony Philippe, had complained of a killing attempt on him while he was driving home. He was ambushed, robbed, shot, and left for dead by a gang of eight heavily armed men. As per Jean's report, the crime was ordered by Lambert, this closest advisors of President Michel Martelly. These are a few of many incidences. As the police is investigating the killing of Romain, the mystery thickens.

It has been learnt that the driver had changed his phone number two weeks ago as he was receiving regular threats over the telephone.
