L'Affair Jean Dominique, Court date for Rene Preval, March 7, not Jean Bertrand Aristide

After the historic court presentation of Former Haitian Dictator Jean Claude Duvalier last week which brought lots of comments, it is now the time for another Former Haitian President to face the Haitian justice. According to information obtained, former President Rene Preval has been invited by judge Ivikel Dabrésil to answer some questions regarding the assassination in April 2000 of journalist Jean Léopold Dominique. The court date is set for March 7th, 2013 or exactly one week after Jean Claude Duvalier court Date.

This has been one of the longest investigations in the history of Haiti. Many important personalities have already been heard in regard to the investigation into the death of Jean Dominique. Some of the people who have already been heard include: Michele Montas, the widow of Jean Dominique, the former chief of the National Police Mario Andresol and former Prime Minister Yvon Neptune.

From Law Enforcement to Fashion, Mario Andresol Fashion Show of Fine Clothing Line

I do not see the relationship. The former Haitian Police chief Mario Andresol has decided to go to fashion with new clothing line called "My Collection. According to Mario Andresol, this is a collection of clothing and underwear.

The Former Police Chief has developed a reputation in the eyes of many people as one of the best dressed public figures in Haiti.

Andrésol had been the head of the PNH from 2006 to 2012 with two 3 year mandate renewed in 2009. He left his position as Chief of Police when his term ended on August 18, 2012. Godson Orelius be came the new Police Chief since.

Godson Orelus installed as Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH)

In Haiti, security has always been a problem due to the lack of it. To address the issue, the Haitian government, in the entity of its senators, assigned the former director of the judicial police, Godson Orelus, to be the new Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH). Of the 18 senators, 17 were in favor of this presidential decree while only 1 senator abstained. Orelus replaced Mario Andresol for the position.

Earlier this month, Godson Orelus was officially given his new position and office in a ceremony at the PNH Police Academy. It was attended by Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, Minister of Justice and Public Security Jean Renel Sanon, several high-ranking officials of the PNH, civil and religious officials and personalities, as well as the representatives of several international institutions, organizations, and other nations.

What happens with the Former Director General of the National Police of Haiti?

There have been numerous rumors on the web that Mr. Mario Andresol has been under House Arrest in Haiti and is not able to live the country.

What does Mario Andresol have to say on that? "I am not on house arrest", according to the former DG of Haiti National Police in an interview with reporter Marie Lucie Bonhomme on Radio Vision 2000

Mario Andresol denied any rumor about being under House Arrest. He mentioned that these rumors circulating on social networks such as tweeter, facebook and BBM that he would be under house arrest and under investigation by the U.S. FBI. have no foundation

Change of guard at Haiti National Police, Godson Orelus to replace Mario Andresol

The long awaited change at the National Police of Haiti has been made. Mario Andrésol has been replaced by Godson Orelius as the new Director General of the National Police. Hold on, this is until the approval of the Senate. This is no longer a rumor and this nomination confirmed that there was a conflict between Martelly Government and Mario Andrésol being the Director General of the National Police.

I am not leaving, said Mario Andresol to Minister of Justice, Michel Brunache

The Haitian Chief of Police, Mr. Mario Andresol does not fall for this. According to report from both Raido Kiskeya and sources close to the Police Department,

outgoing Minister of Justice, Michel Brunache suggested to Mario Andresol that he leave his position as chief of Police in an "Honorable manner".

This looks more and more like a set up to me!

It was suggested to the Police Chief that he used the excuse of his inability to execute an order given by the Minister of Justice last week which is to take action against the ex Haitian militaries and leave his position.
