Rhum Barbancourt 150 Years of Excellence
ADVERTISEMENT
By 1949, the Barbancourt Company had moved operations to the sugar cane plantation, Domaine Barbancourt, in the Plaine du Cul-de-Sac area. In the early 1950s, the profitable operation increased production, making the company a prominent manufacturer of premium rums.
The manufacturing process that produces Barbancourt rum begins with the fermentation of sugar cane juice, double-distilled for purity. What makes the rum so superior in flavor is the use of sugar cane juice rather than its by-product, molasses. Barbancourt rums have received many awards at tasting competitions. Rum reviewers have given Barbancourt rums consistently high marks for quality and purity.
Barbancourt is bottled under the Société du Rhum Barbancourt, T. Gardère & Cie imprimatur. In 2013, the company will release an anniversary edition to mark 150 years of production. The Barbancourt Cuvee 150 Ans Original Blend will be offered in an art deco crystal bottle. Etched into each bottle will be a limited edition number and the commemorative logo.
