The event was marked by exhibition of works of art and their sale, blood donation camps, screening, fashion, film, AIDS Candlelight Memorial, live theater groups and DJ. The three-day long event was the valuation of the heritage communal in both its intangible and tangible forms.
Both Junior Chamber International Innovation and Town Hall of Petion-Ville depended heavily on the residents of Petion-Ville for the success of the event "Popouri Kiltirel Koulè Lokal" and also for creating a good image for Haiti. The entire list of activities and programs was made available at the Town Hall.
Petion-Ville was particularly chosen for this event because it is one of the wealthiest parts of Haiti and the residents include multi-racial Haitians. The Popouri Kiltirel Koulè Lokal was hosted in Petion-Ville because of both financial and cultural advantage as compared to any other part of the Republic of Haiti. It is worth mentioning that the country is plagued by almost feudal division between the rich and the poor.
