Patrick's first step as a radio presenter was very unusual. Patrick says, "I had the habit to attend distance (behind the glass of the cabin's on-air) regularly in the edition of news presented by the late Jacky Caribbean who invited me someday to give a helping hand in the preparation and the presentation of the journal. Since then, I joined the family of Radio Caribbean". Patrick Moussignac then went on to become the News Director and then the Program Direction and eventually became the Deputy Director General. Later in 1991 military coup, Jacky was assassinated and the station staff unanimously appointed Patrick Moussignac to take charge of Radio Caribbean which issued on AM band.
Supporting the direction of the Radio was a difficult task for Patrick Moussignac because of the scarcity of the equipment. Worsening the condition was the fact that the equipment were outdated. Patrick took drastic steps by preventing the spread of anything on radio and he recreated the image of the radio by improving the relationship between the private sector and the radio.
