Jean Herard Richard "Richie" is a talented composer, singer and a drummer. He was a member of Zenglen and was among the artist who gave tributes to over 300,000 Haitians who died from the earth quake in 2010.

Jean Herard Richard "Richie confirmed rumors that were spreading that he wanted to leave Zenglen group to be on his own because he thinks he will make more money. He seems to imitate Gazzman Couleur who left Nu look and formed his own band group. Rumors say that he will be joined by some members of Zenglen and Gazzman Couleur.

Former Zenglen drummer Jean Herard Richard, who is better known as Richie, has formed a new band. The drummer, who was behind the drums in a video in which president Martelly and other artists featured in paying tribute to more than 300,000 Haitians who perished on the wake of the 2010 earthquake says he has big news for his fans.

The new band is still deliberating on its name, though the name bagay neuf has been suggested. Richie says that the name has not been agreed upon, and that bagay neuf might not be it.

In a press release dated December 15, 2011, the popular Haitian band Zenglen made it official. Their maestro Jean Herard Richard, also known as Richie will be leaving the band, effective January 2012. It seems impossible to many in the music industry and still many of my friends do not beilieve that Richie can actually leave the group Zenglen. Unfortunately, it is true.

Can Zenglen survive without Richie?

Since many people do not want to answer this, The "Haitian Joudalist" will.

Zenglen will not survive without Richie and I am willing to bet money on it. Without a musician like Richie, the band should decide to go out of business period. I know the band has many good musicians beside Richie. However, just like Gazzman said in his song:
