This will hurt the Haitian economy and also some who thought they were immune from the the current political problem. Royal Caribbean has decided to cancel another stop for one of its cruise ships in Labadee. Navigator of the Seas cruise ship will not be going to Haiti until local authorities are able to guarantee that there will not be any protests. This recent incident is likely to inflict long term consequences to the image of Haiti. Cruise ships tourism represents more than 60% of all visitors in Haiti.

This can not be good for Haiti. Even worst, this will likely stay with he country for years to come. Royal Caribbean cruise line ship canceled its scheduled visit for Tuesday January 19, 2016 at Labadee after some Haitian protesters in small boats staged a protest. Royal Caribbean was obligated to find an alternative for its 3,634 passenger of its Freedom of the Seas that were headed to Haiti. Although the protest by the Haitians was peaceful; however this is not what the company wants to offer to their precious clients and visitors in Haiti.

"Labadee" is a port surrounded by beautiful mountain slopes and exotic foliage on the northern coast of Haiti. It is a private paradise leased out (until 2050) to Royal Caribbean International, a Norwegian and American cruise line brand based in Miami.

The company has agreed since 1986 to contribute larger portion of their tourist revenue to Haiti government and pay $6 per tourist to the same Haitian authority. They also employed 300 Haitians around Labadee and allowed another 200 to sell their merchandise (who never bug you to buy there things) on their premises for a fee. The resort is situated on a peninsula; it is a secluded, secured place with modern and clean rooms which have fully functioning bathrooms with every modern amenities. Tourists' foods are supplied by the cruise ships.

Royal Caribbean's brand new cruise line, Quantum of the Seas, is proving to be the true measure of all sea-faring vacation liners. Like the Titanic, a hundred and one years before it, this new cruise ship boasts the sort of amenities and capabilities only conjured up before in fevered, hallucinatory dreams. Not set to make its maiden voyage until 2014, Quantum will, no doubt, end the similarities with the doomed ocean-liner at the point of ambitious scope.

Set to be outfitted with all the regulars expected and depended upon in a Royal Caribbean (RC) cruise-liner, Quantum will also boast skydiving, simulated by the use of air pressure, bumper cars and a 300 feet bird's eye lookout called The North Star. RipCord (skydiving) will utilize strong winds to essentially float the brave up into the air. It's a feature that has been offered at various land-based parks, but this will be a first for the 'high' seas. The North Star, described by the execs of RC as an 'observation capsule' is said to be a sea-bound replica of the London Eye. It can hold at any one time 14 of the over 4,100 passengers on board and gives them an unprecedented view of the sites around them.
