Pouchon L. - December 14 2010, 2:58 PM

Due to recent problem Haiti had to deal recently, The Caribbean Community, CARICOM, has decided to allow the country to export its products to other Caribbean countries for the next three year on a preferential basis.

What does that mean for Haiti?

The law that will take effect on January 1, 2011 will be in effect until December 31, 2013. It will allow Haiti to export products and at the same time not be obligated to receive their products.

The Caribbean Community, CARICOM, agrees for Haiti to export a range of products ranging from paintings and drawing to wooden table ware and kitchen and peanut butter.

The list so far includes a total of 42 items that CARICOM agreed upon for Haiti to be able to export to its CARICOM neighbors.
