I am sorry to hear that. I can tell you the only way the government can resolve this problem is to have TRUCK STOPS along the way as we have here in the US. Last summer my cousin, brother and I were in Haiti.

We went to Jacmel on the way back, the brakes became very week. Going up is not the problem obviously.

You see, when you coming back down because it's all hills you have no choice but to apply the brakes about 90% of the time. So, to say the least, the brakes became too hot causes it not to work. It happened to my brother again a month ago. So what he did is cool of the brakes with water on the way back down. As soon As you get down to the flat surface the brakes are fine. That was my personal experience...

Someone else might have a different experience.
