Former North Miami Mayor Lucie Tondreau guilty of conspiracy and mortgage fraud

I'm sad and angry at the same time. Sad that she decided to do something so stupid and sad that she will be going to prison for a very long time. She should have realized that she was not in Haiti and she should not have done this. Just like black Americans, Haitian-Americans need to understand that this government is out to get them. If they are in elected office they need to be completely clear and free of corruption because the U.S. government is constantly watching and waiting for you to do something illegal.

Stay clear of people who want to do illegal transactions, it's not worth it. Thirty years in jail is a very, very long time. Also, her conviction makes people not want to vote for another Haitian-American (even though whites are just as corrupt).

The U.S. is not like Haiti.

It is hard to get away with doing illegal things like this. You are not in Haiti where the government has very few ways to stop corruption.

In the U.S. they have many ways of finding corruption in office and business and they will prosecute you to the fullest.

You cannot take government money in illegal schemes, don't even try it.
