For people who don't have a caretaker helping them dress, buy them elastic shoelaces, a stocking pull-on, button aid, zipper puller, and dressing-aid stick.

People with other mobility problems could benefit from the Clap-On, Clap-Off remote switch for lamps or TVs, an over-bed table, a shoulder-support telephone receiver extender; and a well-equipped lap desk.

People no longer ambulatory need an electric wheelchair, a wheelchair clamp-on umbrella, and sunglass clip-on reading magnifiers.

People who still drive could use a swivel car cushion and car organizer.

People who still prepare meals for themselves could use an under-shelf jar opener, cutting board with suction feet, fold-up dish rack, pan-handle holder, an ergonomic vertical hand mixer, and one-hand can opener.

For bathroom activities, items like a bath bench and wash-and-rinse shampoo tray will help them with personal hygiene tasks.

For medication-dosing, a medication dispenser and a pill splitter are indispensable items.

To help them monitor their blood pressure and temperature, get them a blood-pressure monitor and digital thermometer.

People who don't drive could use a fold-up cloth shopping cart with wheels that will help carry groceries.

Ask your elderly parents or friends which daily activities they have problems completing. Take this information and research what products exist that will help them get through the day more comfortably.
