All ministries currently running a budget deficit, Daly Valet

Is th Haitian Government bankrupted? It seems like it if you heard the last comment made by Daly Valet. According to the advisor for President Jocelerme Privert, none of the advisors to the president has received any salary since he came into power. Daly Valet declared on Radio vision 2000 on Thursday, May 5, 2016 that the advisors did not receive even one gourde for their services. He also informed the listeners that all the ministries are currently running a budget deficit. According to Mr. Valet, the predictions were over estimated with all spending for current fiscal year already made by the government of Michel Martelly.

Public corruption probe on Little Haiti Cultural Center and Sandy Dorsainvil

We just learned that the recent firing of the manager of Little Haiti Cultural Center was not without any cause. The Miami Herald reports that there has been an ongoing investigation for at least two months regarding the management of funds received from renting the facility.

Since February, 2016, Miami police investigators have been quietly pulling records concerning who had rented the facility since June 2013. The State Attorney's Office Multi-Agency Public Corruption Task Force is also involved as they are conducting their own criminal investigation into the Little Haiti Cultural Center and Caribbean Market Place.

Strike causes bleeding pregnant woman to die at the gates of Haiti's Hospital

Would you believe this? A pregnant woman in an emergency situation in Haiti Capital was unable to receive the necessary help and as a result, both the pregnant woman and her unborn child end up dead. To make matter worst, they both died not because they did not seek out help, but she came in at the worong time, during a weeks-old strike by resident doctors, nurses and other staff.

Do you see anything wrong with this picture?

That happened on wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the gate of Haiti State University Hospital in Port-au-Prince. A bleeding pregnant woman dropped dead at the gates of Haiti's largest hospitasl just like an animal.

Moise Jean Charles denounces gift of Ministry Privert gave to Assad Volcy

Former Haitian Senator Moise Jean Charles came out to denounce his friend Assad Volcy and at the same time to give him an Ultimatum to fix his position regarding the advantages received from President Jocelerme Privert. According to Moise jean Charles, his fried and the number 2 member of Pitit Dessalines Assad Volcy was involved in an internal deal with President Jocelerme Privert where a minister was given to him.

Moise jean Charles gave Assad Volcy an ultimatum of (2)two days to fix his position regarding the advantages received from President Privert.

Jean Michel Hilaire leader of gang Haute tension, arresterd in Petit-Goave

Police in Petit-Goave has wan one for the road. The Head of the famous gang "Haute tension", Jean Michel Hilaire, was arrested this week by Police in the region. The gang was specialized in ransoming vehicles, burglary, rape and shooting.

Police in Petit Goave used some innovative strategies to make the arrest. Police officer dressed as doctors were able to arrest gang leader Jean Michel Hilaire without violence.

Gabriel Fortune promised to replace all latrines with flushing toilets in Les Cayes

On Monday, April 2, 2016 the former Senator Jean Gabriel Fortuné stated that once he become mayor of the city of Cayes, he will eliminate all latrines there and replace them with flushing toilets. He wants his city to be the first in the nation that will allow separation between the people and their excreta. Jean Gabriel Fortuné currently doesn't hold any official position. He is still hoping to be heading the municipality of Les Cayes which has not happened so far. The CEP has not published the results of the municipal elections in the area yet; however if the plan to replace all latrines with flushing toilets is implemented this will revolutionize the health sector of the city.

Deputy Abel Decolline, no longer under PHTK banner

The Deputy of Mirebalais, Abel Descollines, who won his seat under the PHTK banner has decided to change ship. In an interview given to Radio Vision 2000 on May 2, 2016, he announced that he is mo longer part of political party PHTK. According to the Deputy of Mirebalais-Boucan Carré, he did not receive the moral support necessary during his campaign by the political party PHTK

Jude Celestin warns against any prefabricated report

Jude Celestin, the candidate for the presidency under LAPEH party came out after several weeks of silence to give a warning to the newly created Commission of Verification. He advised them to stay away from any prefabricated report.

Jude Celestin also stated that he supports the establishment of the evaluation commission to investigate the results of the 25 October 25, elections and has no fear for verification. In regard to an extension of the current agreement, he has no objection but would be against any new political agreement.

Judgement of Debet issued to 16 High government officials in Haiti

If you thing the Government Commissioner has a lot in his plate, you have not seen anything yet. Radio kiskeya announced on May 2, 2016 that Judgement of Debet (Arret de Debet) have been issued to 16 former high government officials in Haiti by the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes(CSCCA) for mismanagement of public funds.

These name have not been released yet; however the decision will be made shortly. Once the names are published, it will be the responsibility of the Government Commissioner to follow up with an actual investigation.

Environmentally, Haiti one of the most exposed countries in the world

This is a study that took place recently. It analyses the probability of an extreme natural disaster and the vulnerability of the people affected in term of their response capacity, and also the level of prevention measures in place against future risks.

First the group conducting the study looked at Haiti geographical location. The country is highly vulnerable to hurricane. In addition, as a result of several seismic faults that cross the territory, Haiti is highly vulnerable to earthquake.

Another criterion where Haiti scored poorly in the study was hunger. Haiti was among the top seven countries most exposed to the problem of hunger. In that list we find: Bangladesh, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Madagascar, Niger, Sierra Leone and Chad.
