President Privert cancelled trip to Jacmel due to health Issues

What's wrong with President Privert? We just learned that the President was scheduled to travel to the city of Jacmel to celebrate its Patronal feast of Saint Jacques and Philippe as well as the festival of agriculture and labor but was unable to make it.

He was unable to make the trip due to health issues. That is what the Communication Office of the presidency announced. Presiddent Privert however, took the opportunity to wish all Haitian workers, to all sectors of national life, and to all Haitians in general, a Happy Feast of Agriculture and Labor.

Chamber of Deputies concerned about Privert's intention, will not recess on May 9

A wind of panic and paranoid covers the Haiti Chamber of Deputies as May 9 which is the day they are supposed to go in recess is quickly approaching. There is a rumor that has been circulating among the Deputies that President Jocelerme Privert is planning on taking advantage of the time the Chamber of Deputies goes into recess to get ride of them all together. It is said that President a.i. Privert would not ask them to reconvene.

The Parliament denounced the attempt by President Jocelerme Privert to make the Parliament dysfunctional. To counter any possible trick from the President, and to remain relevant, the Deputies are now working on a resolution declaring a state of permanence until the resolution of the crisis or they decide on the fate of the executive by May 14

Georges Andy Rene, Wilson Laleau, Laurent Lamothe named in Panama Papers

According to Miami Herald, Haiti is involved in the Panama Papers. For those who may not have the entire picture, Panama papers refers to 11.5 million secret documents leaked from Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca that has been working in the creation of offshore companies.

A Miami Herald investigation revealed how some Haitian individuals, politically connected tried to profit off a 2014 oil deal between Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago. The person in question was Georges Andy René who was heading an agency in full support from the Haitian government that was supposed to be promoting investment. this is the Centre de Facilitation des Investissements or CFI that was in operation from August 2012 to February 2014.

Kenneth Merten and Peter Mulrean making new friends at the Haitian Parliament

I guess when you no longer have friends at the National Palace in Haiti, you try to make new friends with the other branches of the government. In light of the decision of President Jocelerme Privert to establish the Verification Commission at the opposition of the International community, Kenneth Merten and Peter Mulrean decided on the day of the installation of the Commission to pay a courtesy visit to the chamber of Deputy.

They met with about 17 Senators who were present and who were concerned about the current political crisis in Haiti. The found a supporter in Deputy Chancy who opposed the plan of President Privert to have a a single election in October.

Privert flexes his muscles by installing the Commission of Verification

Here is something we have not seen in Haiti for a long time, a President standing firm in his belief, his words, and conviction. Yesterday, President Jocelerme Privert finally installed the five members of the Commission of Verification at the National Palace. The 5 Independent Members are Francois Benoit, Gedeon, Pierre Wilfrid Sanon, Marc Donald Jean, and Michel Eric Gaillard.

It was quite remarkable not to see any representation from the legislative sector, the judicial sector and even more importantly representative from the International community at the ceremony.

Senator Andris Riche wants Jocelerme Privert out by May 14

Senator Andrice Riche doesn't want to hear any plan where President Jocelerme Privert would remain in office after May 14, 2016. He wants him out. According to Senator Riche, Jocelerme can't be part of the solution.

Senator Andris Riche was unable to accept a recent statement by the president who had suggested that the elections should be conducted on the last Sunday of October 2016.

According to Riche, Privert had a clear mission which was to continue with the process of the election to have a president by May 14. He even suggested that President Privert could return to his previous position as the President of the Senate

President Privert having difficulties finalizing terms for the Comission

An attempt was made by President Privert to meet the various political sectors in order to finalize the terms for the creation of the Commission of Verification. The meeting was scheduled for yesterday ( April 27, 2016); however the Deputies of the majority block of PHTK did not show up.

The meeting took place anyway. President Jocelerme Privert and Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles conducted the reunion with the political actors who were present. They went over the text of the Decree for the creation of the Commission before its publication.

Rumor of Conspiracy, Enex Jean-Charles to replace Privert

According to Pierre Esperance, Executive Director of the National Network Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH), is currently opposed to his boss, Jocelerme Privert. Not only that the current Prime Minister doesn't see eye to eye with Haiti Provisional President, Jocelerme privert; Pierre Esperance revealed that the Prime Minister is conspiring with members of the Parliament to remove Privert and give him executive power.

By the way, I want to point out to you that according to the Haitian constitution, the President can't fire the Prime Minister once he is ratified by the National Assembly. Should we say this is a power grabbing opportunity for Prime Minister Enex jean-Charles?

Pressure building for the removal of President Jocelerme, should he go?

According to Rony Celestin, Privert should hand the power over to Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles. Deputy Rony Celestin, of Creca La source is one of a growing list of Deputies and Senators asking for the resignation of Provisional President Jocelerme Privert. They are all asking for the Haitian President to hand over power immediately to his Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles who will be responsible to organize the elections.

Once again, the Haitian people are proving to the world that they are true to themselves and unique as a group. In Haiti, we halve a culture of conflict and it is likely to remain as such for many years to come. We do not make consensus on our differences because each of us is right while the other one is always wrong. We would rather die or have everything destroyed just to stay with our position.

FLASH - Bureau of Commissioner Danton leger vandalized, three key files stolen

We just learned that the bureau of the Government Commissioner Jean Danton Leger was vandalized by people non identified. They took away with them three of the most important files that the commissioner has been working on, including: the current file of Laurent Lamothe, Wilson Laleau and the file regarding the boat where cocaine and heroine were found in sugar shipment.
