Haitian government borrowed over a billion of gourde from ONA, no interest

I guess if you have the power, you can make the rules of the game. According to actual document, the actual Director of the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA), Renald Benjamin is crying fault as he has discovered that the minister of Finance under the government of Michel Martelly, Wilson Laleau, went deep on the fund of the ONA. The government had borrowed a total of One Billion and two hundred million of gourdes from ONA at zero interest. There transactions took place between September 2015 and January 2016 when Emmanuel Menard was in charge of ONA. So far efforts by the current administration of ONA to recover the money have been unsuccessful. The actual Minister of Finance, Yves Romain Bastien, is asking for the current Director of ONA to give him copy of these loan contracts.

FBI agents now investigating attacks on Marriott Hotel in Haiti

The people or group who decided to fire on some important businesses in Port-au-Prince such as Digicel, Hotel Marriot, Natcom and Behrmann Motors on the night of June 23 to 24, 2016 probably did not know that the American government was going to use all its resources to find the those responsible. We just learned that US FBI agents are on their way to Haiti to help with the investigation.

According to Justice Minister Camille Edward Jr, the FBI offered their help to the Haitian government as a large hotel owned by the American hotel chain Marriott was involved. The Minister also wants to inform the public that once the investigation is complete, the results will be made available to the public.

Five dead as bus carrying Haitian farm workers collided with tractor-trailer

On Saturday, five people were killed with 25, injured when a bus carrying Haitian farm workers and tractor-trailer collided in Wakulla, Florida. The bus was carrying between 30 and 35 Haitian Farm workers from Georgia where the farm workers were employed. According to authorities, the bus ran a flashing red light and a stop sign before hitting the tractor-trailer last Saturday. Both vehicles caught fire and rescue was difficult as many passengers were unable to move. Most of the passengers passengers were members of the First Haitian Community Church.

How to beat traffic tie-ups going to or living a Fireworks show?

If you live in the United states, you will not be able to avoid the the Fireworks shows scheduled throughout your city. I also know that you have your own plan as to here you will go to watch the show. The secret in experiencing a good Fireworks display has to do with the location and how much aggravation in it takes to get in and out.

The Pre and Post Boom traffic or traffic tie-ups is often the biggest problem as people rush trying to get there in the last 20 or 30 minutes before the show. Most Fireworks shows starts and end at the same time. Serious delays are usually between 8 and 10:00PM that day. The only way you can get there on time and find a good spot to watch the Fireworks is by arriving early, find a good place an remain in it until everything is over. Bring lawn chairs and just sit back and enjoy the show.

Report put Guy Philippe right in the middle of attack in Cayes' Police Station

The investigation on the attack on the night of May 15 and 16, 2016 in Cayes is complete. According to The Bureau of Criminal Affair(BAC), the attack was Planned in Pastel with Guy Philippe with assistance from his troop. The report reveals that these people had a mission to destabilize the country by attacking Police Stations.

The report indicated that the attackers took away with them: 19 shotguns, 2 M1 riffles, 5 Lynch guns, ammunition and communication equipment, 1 Galil riffle, 5 pistols, 4 bulletproof vests and a Car Nissan.

Arrest warrants are being issued for the arrest of the group leader for Guy Philippe, as well as Yves Jeudy, Michel Alophene Lafalaise, Willy Joseph, Camy, Ricot, Vital Aslin, Marcelus Delande, Teleus Joseph Remy, Komandan Cedras, Komandan Renard, Ketelie, Jean Marc, Athanael Joseph, Rony, Wesmy, Ti Mousson, Renald St Villieres and Cenat ey Komandan Desire.

Haiti on blacklist of shame for not fighting human trafficking and slavery

The United States have updated their "black list" and Haiti is one of the countries placed on the blacklist of shame for not meet the minimum standards for fighting against human trafficking or slavery. Having Haiti in the blacklist of shame will likely make things worst for a country that is already dealing with all types of crises. This can include imposition of economic sanctions such as freezing of non humanitarian aid and non-commercial and the refusal to grant loans from multilateral institutions.

Other countries on the list include: Suriname, Myanmar, Djibouti, Papua New Guinea, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Belarus, Belize, Burundi, Central African Republic, the Marshall islands and the Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, North Korea , Mauritania, Russia, South Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

Haitian Pastor who fled to Haiti after impregnating 10 year old, arrested

fleeing to Haiti did not work for Raymond Vincent after all. According to Police, back in February, 2016 the 10 year old girl was taken to Broward Health Medical Center after complaining of stomach pain. She was found to be pregnant. The case was reported to the local police.

In the meantime, Raymond Vincent who is a youth pastor at a Pompano church and friend of the girl's family was suspected in committing the crime but left South Florida for Haiti.

Many people think American celebrate Fourth of July because it was the day they received their Independence from England. No that is not the case. On July 4, 1776, thirteen English colonies declared themselves independence from England and the British Crown. They formed a new nation called the United States of America.
