Colette Lespinasse Received Richard C. Holbrooke Award by Refugee International

Lespinasse has finally been recognized by Refugee International, which has awarded her the coveted 2nd annual Richard C. Holbrooke Award together with a $5,000 token in appreciation of her work. The award was created to honor those who demonstrate beyond any reasonable doubt that they are committed to ensuring fair treatment of refugees, with protection of all their human rights.
Colette Lespinasse is the coordinator of the Support Group for Repatriates and Refugees (GARR). Her most commendable work is the effort she put in to ensure that those displaced by the tragic 2010 earthquake move on with life irrespective of their geographical location. She has helped many get back their lives on track.
News of the award broke out on Thursday in Washington where Refugee International wrote a letter to Colette Lespinasse to congratulate her on winning the award. The organization is actually celebrating its 33rd anniversary.
