Haiti to Host carifesta in 2015

Caribbean Festival of Arts commonly referred to as carifesta is one of the oldest festivals held by Caribbean countries periodically with the sole motive of ensuring that everyone in the region is able to easily understand and follow on the nations` folkloric and cultural practices. It has been an event organized by these nations periodically this time being planned to be held in Haiti. This is according to the president of the country President Michel Martelly who attended this week's CARICOM Summit in St Lucia, and was on hand for the signing of a Memorandum between CARICOM and Haiti for institution building, the revival of agriculture and investment facilitation.

There is a lot of hope for the country to gain largely from this festival since many foreign visitors visiting the country for the festival. Tourism is thus expected to experience a period of boom. There also is the issue discussed by the president with a couple of other presidents including the Organization of American States Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza, focusing on Haiti's democracy push and the recent swearing-in of a new council on judicial power as well as other issues related to the welfare of the country.

The president has lately been seen to do a lot for the country which is much more than can be said for some of the past presidents. This is because past experiences with leaders has made many citizens lose hope in ever achieving anything as a nation due to bad forms of leadership and very greedy and power hungry leaders. However there is a grimmer of hope at the end of tunnel and things may actually get better with time.
