Haiti Has developed a National Security Plan, Will it solve crime?

Accompanied with the Superior Council of the National Police last Tuesday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe appeared before the Permanent Commission of Justice and Public Security of the Chamber of Deputies to discuss a national security plan for Haiti.

What does that mean?

There have been many of such meetings in the past why people in Haiti continues to be victims of violent crime, including armed robbery, homicide, rape, and kidnapping!

According to Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe: "Ensuring security in the country is a priority of the Government". He stated that he had a meeting with the Superior Council of the National Police and they have come to the two following agreements:

The real cost to the family who becomes victim of crime in Haiti

According to a recent report by the University of Michigan or by just watching the level of insecurity in Haiti lately, violent crime continues to rise in Haiti.

The emotional factor in a crime is sometime unbearable. But this is usually not the only thing the family who is the victim of a crime in Haiti has to deal with.

Has anyone thought about the sudden cost that the family has to deal with, such as funeral and burial. In some cases, families helping the children cope with the crime.

Reginald Delva, aiming at controlling sale of cell phones to reduce phenomenon of insecurity

One excuse that the Haitian government has been spreading every time there is a kidnapping case in Haiti is that the government does not have control over the cell phones the criminals use to process their transaction such as contacting family members, requesting ransom, and actually getting compensation for the crime.

Is the Haitian Government soft on crime?

Hopefully a close regulation of the sale of mobile phones and SIM cards in Haiti will make it harder for these criminals. Actually, this is what the Secretary of State for Public Security, Réginald Delva, thinks. As a matter of fact, the Secretary of State for Public Security had for officials of the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL) that from now on to take the necessary steps to ensure that all sales of cell phones is registered and asked the National Identification Office (ONI) to help him identify criminals. Any operator of cell phone are now required to control the pre-activation of SIM cards.

Three thieves burned in tires (Pere Lebrun) in La Plaine, Port-au-Prince

It is with great sadness that news of three dead young boys reached the citizens of Haiti last week on Wednesday. The bodies were found in the wee hours of the morning having been killed and with their hands tied behind their backs and burned with vehicle tires. The three young boys were said to be a mob of thieves that had been terrorizing the cities and towns near La Plaine, Port-au-Prince and had given the residents a vey hard time for a while. It is therefore believed that the residents lynched the boys with the idea of trying to teach the residents a lesson.

The Sex Bondage Industry

The crime of sex bondage has many purposes, from single-ownership to religious ritualism, in which the sex bondage trade flourishes. Criminal syndicates, high-level government functionaries, depraved netherworld perverts, and dedicated human rights members all use victims of transnational human trafficking for sexual purposes. The international sex bondage trade is a world-wide phenomenon, particularly in South and East Asia.

Commercial sexual exploitation of children embraces activities such as "turning out" child prostitutes, and using them as fodder for child pornography and sex tourism. Any and all kinds of sexual activities are perpetrated on children, some of young as six. Sex bondage can occur as a tangential activity for debt bondage and transportation of brides for forced marriages.

Guiteau Toussaint, assassinated at home in Petion-Ville, Haiti

The 56 year old Guiteau Toussaint who is the current President of the Board of Directors for Haiti National Bank of Credit ( Banque Nationale de Crédit (BNC), was assassinated yesterday, Sunday June 11, in Petion-Ville Haiti.

According to Haiti National Police, several individuals entered the residence of Mr. Guiteau Toussaint in Petion-Ville, to rob him. The "Haitian Joudalist" learned that he was shot in the head and while being taken to the hospital for treatment, passed away.

The report also stated that the bandits left the home with jewelry and other valuables

Mr. Guiteau Toussaint was planning to debut his new mortgage program in a ceremony where president Michel Martelly was expected to attend

FLASH!, Jean-Claude Duvalier just received his arrest in Haiti

Breaking News. The "Haitian Joudalist" just learned that Former president Jean-Claude Duvalier has been arrested. He went to the police van without a handcuff and was accompanied with his wife is Veronique Roy. The family was escorted by Haiti National Police.

Jean-Claude Duvalier returned to Haiti on January 16, 2011. He returned after more than 25 years in exile in France. " I came to help my country" Jean-Claude said at the airport on January 16, 2011. Now the latest is that Jean-Claude Duvalier was arrested by the Haitian authority while in Haiti.

Demonstrators set UNITE Party headquarter on Fire

The Haiti Election results that put Mirlande Manigat and Jude Celestin in the lead to participate in the runoff election set protestation incidents all over Haiti. In Port-au-Prince, protesters set fire to the headquarter or the UNITE party, the political party of President Rene Preval and under which Jude Celestin is currently candidate.

It was reported that thousands of protesters rampaged divers neighborhoods in the capital. They set fire to the headquarter of the Unite party. We were able to see flames and smokes coming out of the facility before fire trucks arrived at the location and control the fire.

Haitians arrested for forcing other Haitians into Hard Labor

Three arrested for forcing Haitians into forced Labor in Florida.

The Haitian "Joudalist" has learned that US Justice Department arrested Carline Ceneus, Cabioch Bontemps and Willy Edward for convincing a total of thirty four (34) Haitians to go to Gainsville, Florida to do farm work in hope to give them permanent US residency.

According to the indictment, these three: Carline Ceneus, Cabioch Bontemps and Willy Edward make these Haitians pick beans and peas and also took their passport to prevent them from leaving the field.

Additionally, the US Justice Department stated that the three were also involved in visa fraud.
