Six people arrested for the attack in Cayes Police station

The investigation on the attack of the Police Station in the city of Cayes appears to be moving with speed. On Tuesdaym may 24, 2016, six individuals were arrested by the Police, according to Chief Superintendent of the police, Marc André Cadostin. In the meantime, Minister of Justice and Security, Me Camille Edouard Junior, as well as a representative of UN MINUSTAH are expected in Cayes on May 24, 2016.

84 suspected criminals graduated with the 26th promotion of the PNH

The National Human Rights Network(RNDDH) revealed that several individuals with criminal records are included in the
26th promotion of the police academy who graduated on Tuesday.

On the same day that 1475 new agents came out of the Police Academy, RNDDH shared a list comprising of 84 individuals with the same names of some of those graduates with grave suspicion on them.

- 16 are former prisoner who evaded during the 2010 earthquake
- 16 are members of various criminal gangs
- 10 were involved in rape, in some cases involving minor children
- 7 involved in "Voies de Fait"
- 3 involved in crime with gun
- 3 having problem with the justice system for possession of illegal guns
- 2 individuals deported from U.S. for their involvement in robberies and abuse on minors
- 1 individual was involved in kidnapping

Judgement of Debet issued to 16 High government officials in Haiti

If you thing the Government Commissioner has a lot in his plate, you have not seen anything yet. Radio kiskeya announced on May 2, 2016 that Judgement of Debet (Arret de Debet) have been issued to 16 former high government officials in Haiti by the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes(CSCCA) for mismanagement of public funds.

These name have not been released yet; however the decision will be made shortly. Once the names are published, it will be the responsibility of the Government Commissioner to follow up with an actual investigation.

Haitian Street children used by gang as informers to kill Haitian Police

According to a video circulating on the web, there was an interview conducted with one of these children who explained how the gangs have been using the street children in Haiti as informers in the assassination of several police officers. Usually for no more than $4 US dollars, these street children are instructed to go and observe where these police officers are stationed and report to them.

This particular child in the video admitted that he contributed in the assassination of five(5) Police Officers in the region of Croix-des-Bouquets and Ganthier. On the day he was captured by the Police, the child was working for a specific gang, observing and reporting the whereabouts some police. These well armed gangs have their base in Carrefour Marin, in Port-au-Prince

Florence Laraque Abducted and then released with a broken leg

Florence Laraque who was abducted on February 24, 2016 was released from captivity 24 hours later, suffering from a broken leg. Police suspected that she was abused by her kidnappers. No arrest was made

New kidnapping tactics in Haiti using seduction to target men

Men in Haiti must now be careful with their love life. They may think they are falling in love but instead may be falling right into a kidnapper's hands. According to inspector Garry Derosiers, spokesperson for Haiti National Police, kidnappers in Haiti are now using new strategies to commit acts of kidnapping. Here is how it works: Some young ladies would start seducing a men at a Disco club and invite them home. However, instead of taking the men to their home, they take them to their accomplices and demand ransom for their release.

David Dume, Police Officer killed in Martissant 21

The PNH has confirmed this Friday (February 12, 2016) the assassination of Police Officer David Dume in Matissant 21. He was assigned to the Directorate of Traffic. The PNH officer was on his motorcycle on his way to work when he was shot several time by bandits. He passed away on the spot.

Yonel Previllon, former PHTK Deputy Candidate for Desdunes, assassinated

Platform PHTK is mourning the death of one of its members. Yonel Previllon who is a former candidate for deputation in the commune of Desdunes was assassinated on the night of February 9 in Delmas 75. Mass Looting at the National Palace last Night

It has been reported that the night following the resignation of President Michel Martelly, there has been mass looting at National Palace. It has been reported that this morning, Monday February 8, between 1:00AM and 2:00AM a group of individual came into the National palace left by the President and tool with them everything that have value, including officials vehicles, computers, expensive paintings, and anything of value found.

Administrative Complex with BEC in Verrettes burned down

The long-term loses in Haiti continue to multiply. We learned that the region of Verrettes is the latest victim in this long period of destruction. The entire administrative complex in th Commune of Verrettes was set on fire on the night of January 27, 2016. In this complex, you find various government offices, including a BEC for the region. Based on preliminary evaluation, the fire was deliberately set. No suspects have yet been Identified.
