According to a pastor working in the slum of Cite Soleil, more that 40 people have been reported dead as a result of recent violence there. The slum of Cite Soleil has once again become a dead trap for many as the pastor working in the town reported on Radio Kiskeya that recent violence has taken the lives of 40 people within the last 8 months

Many gangs in Haiti are usually based in slums like Cite Soleil where there are little opportunities for the residents and specially the young. They use their power and influence to recruit young people in the neighborhood and arm them with heavy weapons. The gang members are often involved in kidnappings, harassment and terror carried to the population to finance their operation.

Whatever it is, I smell a "Rat" in these latest finding coming from the Dominican Republic.

According to Dominican Police sources, at least one Haitian or a group of Haitians is involved in four of every five crimes committed in the Dominican Republic.

The report stated that the Police is actively seeking more than 1,000 Haitian fugitives who escaped from prison in Haiti following prison collapse during the January, 2010 earthquake. It was further reported that most of them are very dangerous criminals who have been convicted of murder, aggravated assault, and the kidnapping in Haiti.

For the first time in over two centuries, Haiti has been making serious headway in rooting out corruption in business and government sectors. Ninety-four suspects have been kept in custody, or charged for practicing corruption within the last year. The latest arrestee is Philippe Chatelin, a local businessperson, who was taken into custody as a suspect in a corruption and contraband scheme, with several Customs officials also participating.

Francisco Rene, Port-au-Prince prosecutor, said his department is committed to wiping out corruption, issuing a warning to those engaged in corruption they will be caught and prosecuted. Government officials claim 90 suspects have been brought in on fraud charges, relating to Haiti's education fund and other government programs.

Matthew Andrew Carter, a man from Michigan, USA, who operated a home for poor children in Haiti as a guise through which he could sexually abuse the children, has been sentenced to 165 years in prison by a judge in Miami. The 68 year old man tried to discredit the witnesses who spoke against him, but, after an hour and a half of deliberations, the federal jury convicted Carter on five counts of leaving the United States for the specific purpose of sexually assaulting minors as well as one count of attempting child sex tourism.

Judge Jean Serge Joseph, dead of a cerebral hemorrhage, was in hot pursuit of First Lady, Sophia Martelly, and son, Oliver, on embezzlement changes. Shorty before his death, Judge Joseph had subpoenaed the First Lady and her son to appear before Parliament, with Prime Minister Lamothe and other government administrators in attendance.

The Martelly-Lamothe government was pressuring Joseph to re-think his position and drop the charges against Martelly's wife and son. Attorneys Michel Newton and Saint-Juste, who have fought the Martelly government's lies and deceptions, and been subject to death threats and other acts of intimidation, have been concerned for Joseph's safety. They sent an emissary, ex-government commissioner, Me Harycidas Auguste, to warn Joseph to be circumspect in his actions. Auguste told Joseph rumors were flying around Port-au-Prince that Martelly henchmen were planning to assassinate him because of his temerity to falsely accuse the head of state's wife and son of embezzlement. The emissary told Joseph he risked his life by continuing to bring legal proceedings against the two.

According to "La Press" a major Canadian newspaper, the Coroner's Office confirmed yesterday to The Press that an autopsy was performed Thursday July 25, 2013 in Montreal on the body of the Haitian magistrate Jean Serge Joseph. "Information indicating that it could be an accident death in unclear circumstances". This has convinced the coroner to search the file further.

As they've made it their mission to question the goings on of any and all individuals, entities or even the government as they relate to issues of human rights and justice, it is a point of irony that the RNDDH, (The National Network for the Defense of Human Rights) has, itself, been called out on the integrity of its dealings in the affair concerning former Senator, Joseph Lambert and current Senator, Edwin Zenny.

The organization had received the official testimony against the senators and the accusation is that the RNDDH has been subjective and have delineated towards a decidedly partisan opinion. The two senators were accused of being directors of the Kakos criminal syndicate. Their accuser, Sherlson Sanon, gave a testimony that was notarized, stating that Zenny and Lambert had issued him orders to commit various crimes including electoral fraud, drug trafficking and murder.

Former criminal operative, Sherlson Sanon, testified about his involvement in KAKOS, a crime syndicate, before the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH). His testimony implicated ex-Senator Joseph Lambert as his mentor, who drafted the then-11year-old Sanon into a life of crime.

Lambert persuaded Sanon to quit school, telling him a diploma would not get him what he wanted--money. Lambert educated the youngster as a drug runner, with special training as a cocaine expert. Sanon's education included the use of weapons, vehicles, and personal tools of the trade.

Sherlson Sanon also implicated Government Commissioner, Lenny Thelisma, whom Sanon says received several shipments of drugs in Carrefour Fleuriot. What is particularly disturbing about Joseph Lambert and Thelisma is both are advisors to President Michel Martelly.

The presidential adviser and former Senator Southeast Joseph Lambert is back fighting for his reputation after the accusations of Sherlson Sanon that Mr. Lambert would be part of a gang involved in violent crimes and drug trafficking.

He said that the individual in question represent yet another attempt to kill him politically, especially on the eve of new elections in which he intends to participate.

The former Senator Southeast replied to implicating the Executive Director and program manager of the National Network for the Defence of Human Rights (RNDDH), Pierre Esperance and Marie Yolene Gilles, accusing them of being behind this to discredit him. He criticizes the RNDDH, naming the rape case against Mr. Josué Pierre-Louis.
