Regine Chassagne, musician of group Arcade Fire

She is a well to do musician who has been able to gain a lot from her career. Regine Chassagne was born in born 18 August 1977 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where by Canadian-Haitian parents who had immigrated to Canada during the reign of president Duvalier who was a renowned dictator in the country facilitating the death of so many of the country's citizens and the fleeing of a larger group of people.

Regine Chassagne was thus raised in Canada where she also noticed her interests and talent in the music industry and was involved with a couple of bands where they did a couple of great hits. She then met Win Butler with whom they co-founded the band group arcade fire which was a huge success for them.

They did some great songs as a groupsome of them specifically meant for some purpose including the famous song "Haiti", in which she sings, Mes cousins jamais nés hantent les nuits de Duvalier ("My unborn cousins haunt Duvalier's nights"). This is in reference to Chassagne's relatives who were killed during one of the infamous massacres specifically the Jérémie Vespers massacre.

Most of the Haitians had suffered greatly during these times and this was the reason why Regine Chassagne decided to sing on how they had suffered and why something had to be done to ensure that nothing of the sought ever happened ever again. In 2003 she married Butler and have lived together ever since. She plays many instruments on stage including the accordion, drums, xylophone, hurdy-gurdy, keyboards and organ. She is thus a very talented singer who has made it hugely in the music industry and who is destined for a great future.
