Max Badette, Haitian singer

Max Badette is a famous Haitian singer who has been able to make out of being a great professional at what he does. There is a great deal of talent exhibited by the kind of songs he writes most of which are aimed at addressing the various issues affecting the society such as love. He combines different kinds of singing styles where he is able to easily bring about the Kompa style from Haiti and can easily combine it with some of the French singing styles to come up with some great songs.

Melissa Laveaux, Canadian Singer with Haitian Roots

Melissa Laveaux is a brilliant music artist of Haitian origin born on January 9, 1985 in Montreal, Quebec. Her songs are based on different themes and genres. She has inspired a lot of new talent in the Canadian music industry. She is a song writer, a vocalist and a guitar player. Her lyrics are quiet touching and are inspired by her life experiences. She has great talent and is very determined.

Melissa Laveaux has spent most of her childhood times in learning guitar on her own. When she was of the age 6, she lost her check which was meant to pay for her piano teacher. With discipline and constant practice, she worked her to expertise on her guitar and vocal skills.

Micah LeVar Troy, AKA Pastor Troy, Haitian-American rapper

Micah LeVar Troy, birthdate of November 18, 1977, is a Haitian-American rapper and record producer. He took the stage name of Pastor Troy in reference to his father's profession and is also known by this moniker.

Micah LeVar Troy emerged as a performer and record producer in 1999 with his first album, We Ready (I Declare War). He collaborated with successful rappers like Ludacris, who used him on the track "Get Off Me" on the album Back for the First Time. Lil' John worked with Pastor Troy on his Kings of Crunk album, recording the single "Throw It Up". They continued their recording partnership, topping the music charts with the singles "Vice Versa" and "Throw It Up".

Michel Batista, Haitian vocalist

Michel Batista is a Haitian artist whose songs are moving. They sweep one of the ground with a great temptation to dance to the wonderful beats. His background in being a vocalist in the Haitian Kampas tradition, has, in these most recent salsa records, proven to be a real contender in the roots Salsa-Pa-Ti genre.

He released his first salsa album in 2001 which was a great hit and was done by S&J Productions. It sought of brought him to the limelight, highlighting the potential he had. Michel Batista has done songs such as La Rumba, El Que Siembra Su Maiz, Candela, El Testamento, Tabaco Y Ron, El Jodon, Porque Ahora,Mi Tierra, Amor De Lejo and Porque Ahora Viene.

Muzion, rap group with Haitian connection

Muzion, a rap group popular in Canada and Haiti was formed in Montreal in 1996. The group actually stated up by the rap artists belongs to Haiti origin. The three young resilient artists behind this group were Dramatik, impose and L-kyll. With very little time, the trio could confirm their talent and established the posse as the best rap group in Quebec.

The group Muzion bags many of the awards and the most renowned are the Félix Awards which the group got first in the year 2000 for its debut Mentalité Moune Morne and then in 2003 for their second work in the Hip Hop category J'Rêvolutionne. With these awards their recognition in the industry becomes more obvious. La vi ti neg, the track is the one that provided the group it first international acclaim.

National Institute of Music of Haiti (INAMUH), System of Symphony Orchestras

National Institute of Music of Haiti is a new upcoming name in Haiti. On Monday, June 11, the Haitian President Michel Martelly and the First Lady Sophia Martelly attended the launching program of the project of the System of Symphony Orchestras of Haiti and the National Institute of Music of Haiti (INAMUH) at the Karibe Convention Center. The aim of the project is to discover and guide underprivileged children to make the children of the country responsible citizens and to make them able to serve the nation in all level. These institutes will give the children the access to strengthen their musical background along with academic one.

Olivier Jarda, Haitian Canadian hip hop artist

Ottawa has been a birth place of many Canadian hip hop, rap and pop music artists. Olivier Jarda is one such name. He was born in Ottawa and belongs to the Haitian origin. He has interest in the music since his childhood days. He spent most of the time of his youth in New Brunswick playing drums and guitar for his two local music groups; Turnstiles and Ted Neely Beard. He completed his under graduation from Halifax and went to University Of Oxford for his masters studies.

While returning to Canada from UK, Olivier Jarda made up his mind to pursue the music career. He worked hard on his compositions and singing and finally came up with his debut album Diagrams in the year 2008. His constant efforts towards his pop music career have helped him to get a special recognition in the music industry over a small period of time. His new album Good Luck Cartel has got appreciations from many artists. He worked on this album for two winters and gave it a final recording at the Halifax.

Patrick Apollon AKA Patchouko, Haitian drummer

A Haitian born drummer who has been able to easily make out of his own ambitions, Patrick Apollon AKA Patchouko is known to have joined the Haitian music group Zin straight from its birth in 1990. He has been the drummer for the group ever since and has had a great career while at it. He was one of the few people able to make out of being self-driven and motivated people and for the kind of interests and love for music that they had. He has stayed with the group ever since its birth to today and has been able to make if out of being a great person in the industry.

Patrick Casseus, Haitian guitarist and a drum player

A guitarist and a drum player from Haiti, Patrick Casseus was in the group known as Les Difficiles de Petion Ville which was headed by Henry Celestin guitarist, singer and composer. In 1970 Henry Celestine resigned from the group but the members of group formed another group by the name Difficiles PAction -Ville. In 1970 Ti Manno joined the band group which became so famous because of his presence.

In 1980's Ti Manno began his own band known as Gemini All Stars which he carried along some people from the other band like Mario Germain on Bass, Ansyto Mercier on keyboard Patrick Cesseus on drum, Imgant Manigat vocal and Ti Claude Geffrard Cajuste on lead Guitar. They came up with an album Expoitation. After that album all the members left the group because of being mistreated by the manager, Ti Menno's wife. Some of the members went back to Difficiles PAction Express. In 1985 the Difficiles PAction Express were awarded a large bonus by the government for performing well at the carnival. The members expected that the money would be divided among them but to their surprise the money was used to buy some instruments.

Pepe Bayard, Haitian accordionist

Pepe Bayard was a great Haitian accordionist who played some of the best songs and hits during his time. He was a very talented musician who won over many hearts by simply using his talent. When he released his very first album he got noticed by many especially when he decided to wear a shirt with all the colors of his country. He got to be a renowned musician all over the country where many got to appreciate his music and love it for it was focused on some aspect of the wellbeing of the country.
