We just learned that the bureau of the Government Commissioner Jean Danton Leger was vandalized by people non identified. They took away with them three of the most important files that the commissioner has been working on, including: the current file of Laurent Lamothe, Wilson Laleau and the file regarding the boat where cocaine and heroine were found in sugar shipment.

Florence Laraque Abducted and then released with a broken leg

Florence Laraque who was abducted on February 24, 2016 was released from captivity 24 hours later, suffering from a broken leg. Police suspected that she was abused by her kidnappers. No arrest was made

New kidnapping tactics in Haiti using seduction to target men

Men in Haiti must now be careful with their love life. They may think they are falling in love but instead may be falling right into a kidnapper's hands. According to inspector Garry Derosiers, spokesperson for Haiti National Police, kidnappers in Haiti are now using new strategies to commit acts of kidnapping. Here is how it works: Some young ladies would start seducing a men at a Disco club and invite them home. However, instead of taking the men to their home, they take them to their accomplices and demand ransom for their release.

Former gang leader, Amaral Duclona, soon to return Home

Discharged completely from accusation on Friday, February 12, 2016 by French Justice, former gang leader Amaral Duclona wil be coming soon to Haiti. As you may remember, he was accused for several criminal acts committed in 2004 during the period of Operation Bagdad. These crimes include kidnapping and killing of businessman Claude Bernard Lauture in 2004 in Port-au-Prince, kidnapping and killing of the French Honorary consul, Paul-Henri Moural in Cap-Haitian in May 2005, and other criminal acts. French justice acquitted Amaral Duclona as it was unable to get some of the key Haitian witnesses to testify against him

Police officer Placide Jean-Louis killed in Champ de Mars

Another Police Officer is down in Port-au-Prince. January 17, 2016 Police officer Placide Jean-Louis who is an Agent 4 working in Cite Soleil was cowardly assassinated in in Champ de Mars, not too far from the Musee du Pantheon National (MUPANAH). He was shot multiple time by unknown individual as he came out of the Bank after a financial tranaction

David Dume, Police Officer killed in Martissant 21

The PNH has confirmed this Friday (February 12, 2016) the assassination of Police Officer David Dume in Matissant 21. He was assigned to the Directorate of Traffic. The PNH officer was on his motorcycle on his way to work when he was shot several time by bandits. He passed away on the spot.

Yonel Previllon, former PHTK Deputy Candidate for Desdunes, assassinated

Platform PHTK is mourning the death of one of its members. Yonel Previllon who is a former candidate for deputation in the commune of Desdunes was assassinated on the night of February 9 in Delmas 75. Mass Looting at the National Palace last Night

It has been reported that the night following the resignation of President Michel Martelly, there has been mass looting at National Palace. It has been reported that this morning, Monday February 8, between 1:00AM and 2:00AM a group of individual came into the National palace left by the President and tool with them everything that have value, including officials vehicles, computers, expensive paintings, and anything of value found.

Civil Prison for Women in Cabaret

On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Mr. Peter F. Mulrean, the U.S Ambassador in Haiti, in the presence of several other local, civil, political, religious and MINUSTAH representatives, inaugurated the new civilian women's prison in Cabaret near Ti Tanyenclose, located on the road leading to Saut d'eau on National Road #1. The construction of the new prison for women started in August 2013 by the Haitian firm Panexus.

A major part of the investment for the project, to the tune of US$ 8 million, has been funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics Affairs and Enforcement (BINL). The prison is a two-story complex on a 6,144 square meter area; it can accommodate 250-300 inmates, allowing about five square meter area per detainee.

Administrative Complex with BEC in Verrettes burned down

The long-term loses in Haiti continue to multiply. We learned that the region of Verrettes is the latest victim in this long period of destruction. The entire administrative complex in th Commune of Verrettes was set on fire on the night of January 27, 2016. In this complex, you find various government offices, including a BEC for the region. Based on preliminary evaluation, the fire was deliberately set. No suspects have yet been Identified.
