Opposition senators refuse to meet President Michel Martelly, not a smart move

For the 3rd time, the opposition senators or specifically the member of G6 were not present at the meeting with the Haitian President, Michel Martelly. President Michel Martelly has gone has gone an extra mile and has demonstrated flexibility. This time, he left the responsibility to schedule meeting with the group of 6 to Senator Desras. The President would like to have it on October 3, not in the National palace but rather in a place that would be determined between them.

One thing I was told a long time ago and still believe in is that: No one has the monopoly on the true.

The six Haitian Senators needs to think very deeply before deciding on an excuse not to meet with President Michel Martelly this time. There is a possibility that Senator Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé, Jean-Charles Moïse, Francky Exius, Westner Polycarpe, John Joël Joseph and Jean William Jeanty might be working against their own objective.

If I can go back into history, I will say that there were many people in the world who at one point thought they themselves had the ultimate true. However, history was not very kind to them. Think of people like Adolph Hitler, Augusto Pinochet and Francois Duvalier, just to name a few.

Michel Martelly may not have been the Haitian politician with a long history in Haitian politic that may would wish. There is a chance however that he might become one of the greatest Haitian Presidents of all time, not from his knowledge, but for his willingness to be flexible and to adjust to changes.

You made some very good points in your statement.

It's just like the Republican Congress in the U.S. They refuse to meet with or work with President Obama therefore nothing has been getting done in the country.

Also, the Republicans are losing votes and respect among the American people.

They have hurt the country and so many people because they won't work with the president.
