Despite the anti-democratic bias of the headline of this piece, Mr. Walser does make one good point "[Haiti] will not be able to move forward without an elected government its beleaguered people consider legitimate and believe they can trust." That is entirely correct.
And it is also *exactly* why the progressives you criticize are calling for new elections.
The most widely supported political party in Haiti, Fanmi Lavalas, founded by Mr. Aristide, was excluded from the Nov. elections on a technicality.

Bien entendu a cause des attitudes de "Mickey".
Je dis bien Mickey parce que ce dernier personnage a bien refait surface.
Il bouge commes'il etait sur un char de carnaval.
Et sa facon de taquiner Meme Manigat, ca fait tres "bas niveau".
Mickey est tres mauvais acteur, il aurait pu essayer de se comporter en futur chef de l'etat.Ala ti pays pa gen chans, qui vivra verra.

Je crains que Michel Martelly comme president ne ternisse encore plus notre image en tant que peuple.
Attendons nous a etre a la risee de tous si ce personnage haut en couleur devenait notre president.
Mais honnetement, dans l'etat actuel de notre pays qui est a construire a partir de zero, pensez-vous que monsieur Martelli aura la capacite intellectuelle et morale necessaire pour faire face a un tel defi?

Mrs. Manigat has not been able to establish her position nor explain her program, she was very slow and disoriented, it was like a deja vu! We need a new horizon, a new Haiti, I'm willing to give a chance to Mr.Martelly, with his new concept and ideas.
