I think it is completely idiot to want to have anybody for life as president.

Do you understand what is happening in the middle east right now. Regimes that have been around too long and refusing any type of change.

Because when somebody has been in power for too long, this interferes with change and it is easy for corruption to take place.

Democracy is 50% about process.

Knowing that if the policies of the current head of state do not work, that person can always be replaced upon the next elections.

With someone for life, you loose the ability to do so. Get it. Anyway, maybe this is something haitian, you know, Dulavier father was president for life, Duvalier son was also president for life. When Aristide came, he made himself Chief/president of the Lavalas party for life. Gosh, could you evolve a little bit, for god's sake?
