Andre Michel no longer a Fugitive, is now free to move

Without Explanation, I just heard that the famous Political activist André Michel has been removed from the list of most wanted. He is now free go about his business.

Andre Michel was arrested, accused of obstructing justice after refusing to allow police and the district attorney to search his vehicle.

One might think that some of the events that took place on the day of his court presentation was orchestrated as the opposition mentioned.

Me Andre Michel blames Martelly for resurgence of the class struggle - Video

Andre Michel is back and this time, as you can see in this video, he put the blame squarely on Michel Martelly for the resurgence of class issue in Haiti. He also said that this did not start today.

He gave some examples: " When Michel Martelly referred to Liliane Pierre-Paul of Radio Quisqueya as "Ti Lili" added Metre Michel, he meant to say that: "Pitit malere, malerese" nan Ti Goave, Moun Tet Grenn, Moun Led.

He also referred to the first Bal following Martelly inauguration as President in Petion-Ville. According to Andre Michel, Minm moun ki gin koule noir were nor allowed to go in".

Me Andre Michel, a fugitive according to Me Francisco Rene

According to Haitian authorities, the Human rights lawyer, Me Andre michel is now a fugitive of the law. Government Commissioner, René Francisco, stated that lawyer Andre Michel became a fugitive from the moment he decided to flee the courthouse without a release order.

The Haitian government put out a statement saying: "by voluntarily accepting the help of three parliamentarians accomplice to escape the courthouse while he was under the orders of the court, the defendant is constituted as a fugitive"

Supporters broke into courtroom as Andre Michel ordered transfer to state penitentiary

This is the latest on the case of Attorney Andre Michel as the day of October 23, 2013 will likely be remembered as one of the hottest day for the Martelly-Lamorthe government.

As Attorney Andre Michel was awaiting hearing where the judge was preparing to serve him an order to be transferred to the state penitentiary, supporters broke into the courtroom. It was reported that legislator Arnel Belizaire and other supporters drove Andre Michel to the Haitian Parliament for security purpose.

Several supporters shut down several blocks in the streets of Port-au-Prince by putting up barricades and burning tires. The Haitian government later that day issued a statement condemning the removal of Andre Michel from the courthouse.

News Update: Andre Michel has been released

After supporters of Andre Michel had gathered around the Palace of Justice to apply some pressure, André Michel was released. According to report, he was taken to the Haitian Parliament by a group of parliamentarians for security issue. The people on the streets asked for the immediate release of André Michel. They even went further in their slogans, chanting:

"Aba Francisco Rene arrest Rene Francisco,"
Also, there has been rumors in the streets that Mr. Francisco Rene is already on his way out. Many people rumored state the possible dismissal of the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince, Mr. René Francisco in the next few days

Human Rights Lawyer Andre Michel arrested in Martissant - Watch VIDEO

Lawyer André Michel who filed the corruption complaint against First Lady Sophia Martelly and her son Olivier Martelly was arrested in Martissant

The arrest came after the Human Rights Lawyer André Michel parked his car near a police sub-station in Martissant. He had requested the presence of his attorney. As a large crowd began to protest the arrest, an impressive detachment of CIMO agents barricaded the police station in Martissant not to allow anyone to enter and did not take time to start firing tear gas on the crowd. Subsequently, André Michel was taken away.

Plot Thickens Concerning Martelly Family Corruption Charges

The narrative of Haiti's first family being investigated on corruption charges has just taken a new twist in an ever-widening net of conspirators plotting Martelly's downfall. Human rights attorney, Andre Michel, is representing Enold Florestal, a citizen who filed the complaint, accused First Lady, Sophia Martelly, and son, Oliver Martelly, with embezzlement of government funds. Florestal was arrested for his part in the killing of Frantzy Duverseau three years ago.

Michel claims Martelly government proxies bribed Florestal to withdraw the complaint. But he refused, and Judge Lamarre Belizaire, new on the case, pursued Florestal, and had him arrested. An outpouring of public condemnation against Belizaire made his task difficult. But he finally swore out a warrant to capture Florestal and his brother, Josue, incarcerating them for Duverseau's death.

Mendat D'Amener and Travel Ban issued to Andre Michel

Based on the latest action of Magistrate Lamarre Belizaire, he is in possession of information that implicate both Enold Florestal and Andre Michel in the assassination of the 4 year law student Frantzi Duverseau.

Recentlly, a "Mendat D'Amener" was issued to Magistrate Lamarre Belizaire, inviting both Enold Florestal and Andre Michel to appear in front of his court to answer questions regarding the case. By measure of precaution, the Human Right lawyer, Andre Michel elected not to appear stating that the magistrate is not neutral in the case and would likely use this as an opportunity to get back at him for his ongoing opposition to the Martelly's government.

Government of Haiti Supports Alleged Rapist Josue Pierre Louis

Outraged attorneys, representing the victim of a rape perpetrated by a government of Haiti (GOH) official, condemned the GOH for its public support of alleged rapist Josue Pierre Louis. Louis is President of the Permanent Electoral Council, being disputed as a valid ruling body.

During a hearing, attended by the victim and judge adjudicating the case, Jean Renel Sanon, Minister of Justice (MOJ), showed up unexpectedly. Andre Michel, human rights attorney, claimed the random appearance of Sanon was an intimidation tactic, calculated to make Marie Danielle Bernadin drop her case against Louis. She accuses him of battering and raping her. Sanon has a history of questionable behavior in his position as MOJ, and he was not required to attend the pre-trial hearing. Court observers were bewildered as to why the MOJ had shown up.
