U.S. Congressional Delegation, Patrick Leahy and Peter Welch, in Haiti

Several high ranking US congressmen such as Patrick Leahy and Peter Welch who is a member of the US House of Representatives, visited the areas in Port-au-Prince that were mostly affected by January earthquake.

They also met with the Haitian Prime minister, Mr. Jean-Max Bellerive and several organizations that are providing help to the people affected by the earthquake.

Senator Patrick Leahy made remarks about the election in Haiti last Sunday.

He feels that the positive outcome of the election will help the country to move toward recovery faster.

and promised that the US government will release the remaining portion of the fund that US pledged to Haiti
