Georges Andy Rene, Wilson Laleau, Laurent Lamothe named in Panama Papers

According to Miami Herald, Haiti is involved in the Panama Papers. For those who may not have the entire picture, Panama papers refers to 11.5 million secret documents leaked from Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca that has been working in the creation of offshore companies.

A Miami Herald investigation revealed how some Haitian individuals, politically connected tried to profit off a 2014 oil deal between Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago. The person in question was Georges Andy René who was heading an agency in full support from the Haitian government that was supposed to be promoting investment. this is the Centre de Facilitation des Investissements or CFI that was in operation from August 2012 to February 2014.

Pressure building for the removal of President Jocelerme, should he go?

According to Rony Celestin, Privert should hand the power over to Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles. Deputy Rony Celestin, of Creca La source is one of a growing list of Deputies and Senators asking for the resignation of Provisional President Jocelerme Privert. They are all asking for the Haitian President to hand over power immediately to his Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles who will be responsible to organize the elections.

Once again, the Haitian people are proving to the world that they are true to themselves and unique as a group. In Haiti, we halve a culture of conflict and it is likely to remain as such for many years to come. We do not make consensus on our differences because each of us is right while the other one is always wrong. We would rather die or have everything destroyed just to stay with our position.

Privert's agendas: Verification Commission and National Dialogue

Daly Valet came out to explain to the public where the government is heading. According the Special Adviser to President Jocelerme Privert, the government has two main objectives. On the one hand, the government wants to open a dialogue with the various political actors and various sectors of civil society for the implementation of the Verification Commission. On the other hand, the government is looking for a national dialogue, with at goal to establish a sustainable social pact of political stability and economic development for Haiti.

Privert, Jean-Charles transforming the government with 15 new appointments

The government of Jocelerme Privert and Enex Jean-Charles is moving aggressively to take control over the control of the government left by Michel Martelly. In a Decree scheduled to be made public today (April 11, 2016) the government has appointed 15 individuals to various sectors of the administration, including Minister, Secretary General, Directors General, Chief of Staff and Secretary General at the Primature.

Here is the completed list of the appointees:

Former Colonel Antoine Atouriste, appointed Minister of Defence

Paul Harry Voltaire, appointed Secretary of State for Territorial Community.

Garry Joseph Mazile, appointed Director General a.i. of the Ministry of Culture,

Danton Leger issued Travel interdiction to businessman Marc Antoine Acra

The new Government Commissioner, Jean Danton Léger, is not wasting any time in his new function as he is already involved in some of the most important cases in the nation. Acording to rezonodwes.com, Jean Danton Léger stated on April 5, 2016 in the popular radio station Scoop FM that he has already reviewed the case of drug found in a cargo of sugar belonging to businessman Marc Antoine Accra. He also notice several important document missing from the file. Danton Leger has issued travel interdiction for several individuals he believes can bring light on the matter, including businessman Marc Antoine Acra and a general manager in public l`administration

Jocelerme Privert Elected As Provisional President

On February 14, 2016, the Haitian Parliament elected former Senate Chief Jocelerme Privert (62) as the new interim president, one week after the previous president Martelly stepped down with no successor. Mr. Privert was a cabinet minister under President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Hours later, while addressing the nation from the National Palace as the 51st President, he has called for unity and sacrifice to help the country out of the political crisis that brought him into the power. Privert will hold his office for 120 days and remain responsible to organize the overdue presidential election on April 24, 2016 and install a new President on May 14, 2016. However, holding the overdue election would be his main challenge because most of the opposition political parties are demanding complete cancellation of the October 25, 2015 election. They are not even happy with his selection. He has to find out a consensus prime minister and government who will need to help him constitute a credible nine-member electoral council.

Jean Danton Leger, new Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince

Jean Danton Leger has been named the new Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince and entered in function on April 1, 2016. He replaces Clamé Ocnam Daméus. As a note, this in not the first time Jean Danton Leger is Government Commissioner. He occupied this function before in the jurisdiction of Jacmel, his home town. The fifty one year old Danton Leger is also a former Deputy of Léogâne

On Friday, April 1, 2016, the former Deputy Jean Danton Léger was sworn in as the new Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince. He was sworn in by the Dean of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Port-au-Prince, Mr. Bernard St-Vil. He was installed into his new responsibility, replacing his interim predecessor Mr. Clamé-Ocnam Daméus who was formerly appointed replacing Mr. Kerson Darius Charles after the famous trial of Sonson Lafamilia. As the new Chief of Public Prosecutions, Danton has promised to respect the image of the Justice represented by a blindfolded woman who is unbiased of the color, gender and social status of the people seeking justice before her.

Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles & 15 Cabinet Members Sworn In

In a step towards organizing the presidential elections and restoring Constitutional order to the country, Enex Jean-Charles was installed as the new Prime Minister by Provisional President Jocelerme Privert on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the National Palace. The new Prime Minister along with 15 other cabinet members has been sworn in as part of the country's interim government, promising to get the country's incomplete electoral process back on track.
Enex Jean-Charles (born July 18, 1960) is a longtime presidential adviser who has remained behind the scenes in the National Palace for years since the rule of Presidents Boniface Alexandre March 2004. He is an administrative law professor and a seasoned lawyer who has numerous published research reports and articles on administrative matters relating to decision making, local participation and development of administrative policy to his credit.
Jean-Charles, who was an advisor of former President Michel Martelly, had pledged to work toward "a participatory process which will bring a happy ending to all controversies, for the good of the Haitian people." The new cabinet is composed of 18 ministries, which would be run by 15 ministers who have sworn in as part of the country's interim government. The names of such 15 ministers are mentioned below.

Cholzer Chancy pushing for Jean Tholbert Alexis to be ONA Director

Among the political positions most attractive today in Haiti is the Director of ONA and to be in that position, one must have some very good friends high above. This is the case for the former President of the Chamber of Deputy, Tholbert Alexis. According to some correspondance made public, the current President of the Chamber of Deputy, Cholzer Chancy, has been pulling some cords to get the job to his friend Tholbert by recommending Tholbert Alexis to Prime Minister Enex Jean- Chjarles. He was also nsuccessfully recommended for the post of Prime Minister.

Transfer of power between PM Evans Paul and Enex Jean-Charles

New Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles and 15 cabinet members were sworn in on Monday with the objective to get the electoral process going again. Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles was installed by provisional President Jocelerme Privert, followed by some of the cabinet position positions, including Minister of Planning and External Cooperation Avoile Fleurant, Minister of Justice and Public Security Camille Junior Edouard, and Foreign Minister Pierrot Delienne

Some activists were present at the ceremony of transfer of power between Former Prime Minister Evans paul and Enex Jean Charles to show their disatisfaction with the former Prime Minister. They have managed to interrupt the message Evans Paul was delivering. These activists who were demanding for his arrest were faced with later taken out by some agents responsible for the security
