Jack Guy Lafontant resigns as Haiti Prime Minister

On Saturday, July 14, Haiti Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant declared in the lower house of Haiti's legislature: "I submitted my resignation to the president of the republic", who has "accepted my resignation". With this statement, the Prime Minister had managed to avoid a likely vote of no confidence to stepped down.

Mr. Lafontant took office less than one year and half ago, in February 2017. On Saturday, the Haitian parliament had been debating whether or not to give Lafontant a vote of confidence for more than three hours. With the resignation of the prime minister, Haiti now has no functioning government. President Jovenel Moise will need to dominate a new Prime Minister.

Work under way to nominate only one candidate for the G8

We have learned that there is a high possibility that one candidate could represent the G8 in the next presidential election in Haiti. I know what the next question is and I will answer it immediately. No, Moise Jean-Charles will not fall for something like this and would run under the banner "Pitit Dessalin". the group is currently working on the plan if thy manage to have a consensus on one candidate, it will likely be Jude Celestin.

Wouldn't this be interesting if we could have a race with Jude Celestin, Moise Jean-Charles, Maryse Narcisse and Jovenel Moise?

Reverend Father Julien said May 18 homily not political

Reverend Father Julien was on Radio show Ranmase Saturday (May 28, 2016) to bring some lights into his homily pronounced on May 18, 2016 when he was accused of supporting the PHTK candidate Jovenel Moise. According to Father Julien, he wanted to take the advantage of all the people who were there to promote local production and would worn those who misinterpreted his words, wanted to exploit his comments for political reasons.

On May 18, 2016, Reverend Father Julien stated: "Nap Manje bannan nan sou tout form, Bouyi, Peze, Papita.."

No second round election without Jean-Charles Moise

Platfom Pitit Dessalines may not know the names of the two presidential candidates who will be participating in the runoff Presidential election in Haiti; however they are certain of at least one of them. In less than one week before the report of the Commission of Verification, the political platform Pitit Dessalines made it clear that there will be "no second round without Jean-Charles Moïse". In addition, Pitit Dessalines expects the elimination of PHTK candidate Jovenel Moïse from the process, stating if it is proved that a candidate or political group has benefited from fraud, the votes should be annulled.

N'ap Manje banann nan sou tout form, Bouyi, Peze, Papita

In Haiti, you never know when you might get into trouble. This is the case in the city of Arcahaie on May 18, 2016 for the celebration of our Haitian Flag. Furing the mass celebration, Father Julien who wanted to promote Plantain which is a local product stated that: "N'ap Manje banann nan sou tout form, Bouyi, Peze, Papita". This statement came out not asintended but appeared to be in support of the PHTK candidate Jovenel Moise who has identified himself as the Plaintain Man, "Neg Banann Nan"

Do you think this was a innocent statement from Father Julien or do you feel it was intentional to support PHTK candidate Jovenel Moise?

Jovenel Moise is not my Cousin, said Moise Jean Charles

This hopefully will put an end to the rumor. The rumor came from the leader of the Political Party OPL. Sauveur Pierre Etienne who came with the notion that the two Moises, Jovenel Moise and Moise Jean Charles whose real name is Jean Charles Moise would be blood relatives and that the two Candidates for President are Cousins. Moise Jean Charles did not waste time to react by denying any family tie with the Candidate of PHTK. He stated "Jovenel Moise is not my cousin". The candidate of Pitit Dessalines" I came from Milot in the North and Jovenel moise is from Trou-du-nNord in the north east.

Jovenel Moise in fifth place, not qualified for run off election

Jovenel Moise and the political party PHTK have not been feeling well since February 19, 2016. That was the time when Jovenel Moise and representatives of PHTK met provisional president Jocelerme Privert and learned the bad news. According to Jovenel Moise who was recently on Scoop FM, PHTK was informed at that time by Privert that he was not aware that Jovenel Moise was qualified for the run-off presidential election. Instead, based on the information in possession of the Haitian president, Jovenel Moise came in fifth place in that election and not first as the CEP of Pierre Louis Opont would have suggested.

Evans Paul wants Jovenel Moise and Jude Celestin for run off election

According to Prime minister Evans Paul, the accord signed between Jocelerme Privert and Michel Martelly specifically refers to the continuation of the election process and that translates into the organization of the run off election between Jovenel Moise and Jude Celestin. The Prime Minister went on to say that Privert was the principal writer of the agreement which must be strictly respected

Jude Celestin out of election, leaving Jovenel Moise to run against himself

There is something that people in Haiti often say: "Pwoblem Pap Fini nan peyi sa". It translates as "Problem will never end in this country". That could't be more true than now with what is going on with the presidential election. To demonstrate how we (Haitians) have the capacity to create KO, just 10 days before a scheduled presidential election, one candidate has decided to make it official that he will not be participating. In an interview at radio Kiskeya on January 14, Jude Celestin made it clear that he will not be one of the presidential candidates for the January 24 elections.
